Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced accountant with at least 8 years in finance. Responsibilities include financial reporting, budgeting, and maintaining accounts. A Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance along with a professional qualification (CFA, CPA, CMA, ACCA) is required. Experience with Tally software and fluency in Microsoft and Google Suite are essential. Preferred candidates will have experience in the AEC industry.

  • Experience in commercial contract terms and tender responses.

Job Description

  • Maintain and oversee the company's accounts and finances under the supervision of the Finance Manager
  • Assist in preparing Cash Flow and Budgets
  • Coordinate, prepare, and administer the annual operating budget and financial planning
  • Prepare periodic budget forecasts
  • Calculate projected costs and prices for proposals
  • Calculate accumulated actual costs of projects monthly
  • Conduct variance analysis of project costs
  • Prepare monthly project progress reports
  • Prepare and issue invoices; follow up on receivables
  • Oversee receivables, payables, and inter-company reconciliation reports
  • Assist in annual audits and statutory financial statement preparations
  • Ensure proper administration and monitoring of finances
  • Engage with stakeholders and communicate effectively
  • Maintain financial regulations and controls
  • Report income, expenditure, and budget variations to management
  • Support the Finance Manager and promote teamwork
  • Review commercial contract terms and prepare billing schedules
  • Analyze profitability of proposals and current projects
  • Maintain and develop financial software systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned
The Ideal Candidate Should Have

Strong knowledge of commercial contract terms and experience in contract preparation and response to tenders. Preference for candidates with experience in AEC and Real Estate industries. Must have comprehensive accounting knowledge up to finalization of financial reports. Expertise in Tally accounting software. Professional qualification of ACCA, CMA, or ACA (full or part-qualified).
