Accounts Assistant (Accounts Payable)- Sharjah
Responsibilities:
- Manage and process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly accounts payable reports, providing insights into spending trends and outstanding liabilities.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely receipt of goods and services, facilitating smooth operations.
- Prepare payment batches for approval, ensuring that all necessary documentation is attached and approvals are obtained.
- Monitor due dates for payments and ensure timely disbursement to avoid late fees and maintain good credit terms.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and answering queries related to accounts payable.
- Maintain accurate and organized filing systems for all accounts payable documents, ensuring easy retrieval and audit readiness.
- Utilize accounting software to track and record transactions, ensuring data integrity and compliance with financial standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounts payable procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the department.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred to ensure a strong foundational knowledge.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounts payable within a fast-paced environment is essential.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel for effective data management and reporting.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements to ensure accurate processing and reporting.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is a plus to effectively communicate with local vendors.
- Strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies and propose solutions quickly and effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
