Job summary

A global distribution company in Dubai is seeking an experienced Finance professional to manage accounts payable and receivable, oversee treasury functions, and ensure accurate accounting and reporting. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree and has over 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in an international trade environment. Job description

Who will join our finance team?

For multiple group entities in Belgium and Dubai you will be responsible for:

Accounts Payable / Receivable

  • Processing purchase invoices via document capture software (intelligent scanning)
  • Improving recognition functionality during invoice registration
  • Verifying completeness and accuracy of incoming invoices (order matching)
  • Reporting and discussing anomalies with the purchasing department
  • Following up on cost recharges
  • Handling incoming calls and emails from suppliers/clients (A/P statements, reminders, audit confirmations)

Treasury

  • Processing bank statements
  • Reconciling incoming and outgoing payments with outstanding ledgers
  • Preparing outgoing payment runs
  • Preparing and submitting letters of credit (LC) with the bank

Accounting & Reporting

  • Preparing and submitting returns and reports (VAT, excise, corporate tax, statistics)
  • Preparing monthly entries for accruals and deferrals
  • Assisting in quarterly closings, external audits, and annual financial statements

Administration & Office Management

  • Monitoring the accounting department mailbox
  • Completing ad-hoc reports and listings for various stakeholders
  • Ordering office supplies
  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail
  • Welcoming visitors

Additional

  • Potential for additional accounting tasks depending on experience

The Profile of Our Ideal Candidate

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or have sufficient experience in a similar role in your previous jobs.
  • You have at least 8 years of relevant experience in an accounting department. Experience in an international trade environment (VAT regulations, customs, INCOTERMS) is a plus.
  • You have a good command of English. Knowledge of French is an additional asset.
  • You have experience working with an ERP system or accounting software. Experience with Navision/Business Central and/or Exact-on-line is a plus.
  • You possess excellent Excel skills and are familiar with other common MS Office tools.
  • You are accurate, efficient, and capable of working independently.
  • You enjoy working in a team and contribute to a positive work atmosphere.
