Job Description

Role Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for core accounting and general ledger functions, supporting activities such as audit file preparation, tax compliance, budgeting, MIS reporting, and cross-departmental collaboration.

Purpose of the Position:

The Accountant manages the company’s general ledger activities, ensuring timely and accurate monthly closing, including preparing audit and tax files.

Responsibilities:
  1. Record day-to-day financial transactions, including journal entries and accruals.
  2. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, customer/supplier statements, bank statements, and intercompany transactions.
  3. Ensure all transactions comply with IFRS and company policies.
  4. Prepare VAT and Corporate Tax working files with supporting documents.
  5. Liaise with the tax department for tax submissions.
  6. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  7. Prepare audit working papers and supporting documentation.
  8. Generate periodic MIS reports for financial and operational analysis.
  9. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
  10. Review invoices and financial documents for accuracy and proper approvals.
  11. Collaborate with procurement, admin, and other departments to record transactions properly.
  12. Monitor and report on recurring expenses such as utilities and communications.
  13. Support petty cash management and reimbursements.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
