Masdar, Abu Dhabi-based global clean energy leader, seeks an Accountant (UAE National) to manage project accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax compliance in line with IFRS. You will maintain the General Ledger, prepare monthly close, and support audits and reporting for key projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with ACCA or equivalent.
  • 4–6 years of accounting experience in infrastructure, construction, or project environments.
  • Strong IFRS knowledge with hands-on experience in GL, reporting, AP/AR, reconciliations, and audits.
  • Experience in tax compliance, cash flow management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Solid understanding of accounting systems, internal controls, and ability to operate in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

  • Record project transactions in the GL in full compliance with accounting standards and Masdar policies.
  • Prepare monthly trial balance and ensure the accuracy, quality and timely closing of Books.
  • Perform the monthly accruals and provisions for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure the integrity of the accounting software or similar system/data.
  • Support external audit process of periodical financial statements as per directives received.
  • Prepare monthly aging reports for account receivable and payables in full compliance with IFRS and Masdar financial policies and procedures.

Job description

We are currently seeking an exceptional Accountant (UAE National) who will bee executing all matters with regards to the bookkeeping, country applicable taxes, financial and accounting for the project, ensuring the integrity of internal controls and accounting information in compliance with IFRS maintaining the integrity of the General Ledger (GL) in order to ensure accurate reporting of the financial results.

Responsibilities not limited to;

  • Record the business transactions related to the project in the accounting register (GL) in full compliance with reporting and accounting standards and Masdar financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly trial balance and ensure the accuracy, quality and timely closing of Books.
  • Perform the monthly accruals and provisions for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure the integrity of the accounting software or similar system/data.
  • Support external audit process of periodical financial statements as per directives received.
  • Prepare monthly aging reports for account receivable and payables in full compliance with IFRS and Masdar financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of bank account, customers/vender reconciliation and all balance sheet accounts in full compliance with IFRS and Masdar financial policies and procedures.
  • Report on project costs - perform breakdown of capex and other significant balances in full compliance with IFRS and Masdar financial policies and procedures.
  • Process accruals as per IFRS standards in order to ensure account accuracy at all times.
  • Manage all payroll functions and accounting processes to ensure payroll administration on time and as per policies including preparation of employees' compensation by the end of each month and monitoring of employees' timesheets and leaves.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, monthly management reports, managerial financial reports, financial analyses, and budgets on a periodical basis as required by stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports according to the project financial documentation to ensure accurate project finance.
  • Prepare the required documents for distribution process to all project stakeholders.
  • Monitor the debt re-payments to each lenders, including interests and hedge in line with agreements.
  • Act as the focal point for tax authorities and prepare and file tax reporting and payment as per applicable laws, informing decision-makers of tax consequences of various business decisions.
  • Maintain tax accounting in separate books as required by tax law and ensure full compliance of tax reports with applicable laws.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with a mandatory professional qualification ACCA or equivalent
  • 4–6 years’ experience in accounting within infrastructure, construction, or project environments
  • Strong IFRS knowledge with hands‑on exposure to GL, reporting, AP/AR, reconciliations, and audits
  • Experience in tax compliance, cash flow management, budgeting, and financial analysis
  • Solid understanding of accounting systems, internal controls, and ability to operate in a fast‑paced project environment
