Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a strong background in the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of our organization through accurate record-keeping, effective insurance reconciliation, and compliance with DHA (Dubai Health Authority) regulations. The role requires a thorough understanding of both general accounting principles and healthcare financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting:

  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accurate classification and recording of all financial transactions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and other adjusting entries.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare trial balances, profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including vendor payments and customer invoicing.
  • Process payroll entries and reconcile with HR reports (if applicable).
  • Monitor cash flow, forecast liquidity needs, and report on cash positions.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of VAT returns and compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing necessary reports and documents.

Healthcare Insurance Reconciliation:

  • Verify and reconcile insurance claims submitted vs. payments received, identifying and resolving any mismatches or short payments.
  • Track pending claims, follow up with insurance providers for approvals or clarifications.
  • Liaise with billing and medical coding teams to correct rejected claims and ensure proper resubmission.
  • Maintain detailed records of insurance reconciliations, denials, and recovery status.

Compliance with DHA Regulations:

  • Ensure all financial and billing practices are compliant with DHA rules and healthcare policies.
  • Maintain documentation and reports as per DHA audit requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes to DHA guidelines affecting billing, accounting, and claims.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Proven experience in insurance reconciliation and familiarity with DHA regulations.
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with healthcare ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specialized hospital management software).
  • Certification such as CPA, CMA, or UAECA is a plus.
  • Prior involvement in internal/external audits within the healthcare sector.
