Job summary

Emarat is seeking a detailed Fixed Asset Accountant to maintain the precision and completeness of the Fixed Asset Register and PPE records in line with IAS 16 and IFRS 16. The role requires independent validation of capitalization requests and strong internal controls to ensure proper accounting and reporting.

You will oversee asset capitalization, CWIP, depreciation, transfers, retirements, and disposals; support asset accounting policy development; drive automation in Oracle Fusion; and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field is required.
• Master’s degree in accounting or ACCA/CPA/CA/CMA is preferred.
• Minimum 4 years experience in fixed asset accounting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Fixed Asset Register and PPE records.
• Validate capitalization requests and ensure IFRS/IAS 16 compliance.
• Manage depreciation, asset transfers, retirements and disposals.
• Conduct asset verifications and maintain financial controls.

Job description

The purpose of this role is to maintain the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of Emarat's Fixed Asset Register and fixed asset accounting records, ensuring proper accounting, capitalization, tracking, and reporting of all Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE). The role independently validates capitalization requests, ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and maintains segregation from capital budgeting, project approval, investment analysis, and CAPEX governance activities.

Qualifications:

• Experience with ERP Fixed Asset Modules.
