Accountant - Dubai based (JLT) - Oil and Gas Company

RIG (Recruitment International Group) is working with an Oil and Gas company with an excellent reputation in the market. The client is looking for an Accountant to join their team in JLT, with experience in the UAE market.

Responsibilities:

1. Record journal entries to ensure all business transactions are accurately documented in the accounting system.
2. Record sales and purchase invoices weekly and monthly, resolving review points, including VAT and Corporate Tax compliance checks.
3. Prepare periodic reconciliation of account balances with clients and vendors.
4. Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash, and credit card statements weekly.
5. Review project cash flow forecasts weekly to ensure alignment with payables and receivables.
6. Prepare weekly payment runs and coordinate approval processes.
7. Manage and maintain accounting files and records according to best practices, ensuring all financial reports are uploaded to Ottofiles.
8. Upload weekly approved payment runs to the bank and coordinate online banking reviews and authorizations.
9. Reconcile labor allocations and payslips in the accounting system, ensuring compliance with employment contracts and labor laws.
10. Record monthly recurring entries and maintain schedules for balance sheet items on a monthly basis.
11. Prepare inter-company invoicing and reconcile inter-company balances among Drakken entities.
12. Manage GL accounts related to UESR (unrealized sales revenue) and WIP (work in progress), including monthly analysis.
13. Perform month-end closing tasks within 5 working days after month-end to ensure accurate recording of transactions.
14. Assist in preparing standalone and consolidated financial statements for Drakken entities, compliant with IFRS and local tax regulations, including related analysis.
15. Assist in preparing financial budgets and forecasts, with periodic reviews.
16. Liaise with external auditors, banks, and tax authorities.
17. Assist in preparing and filing periodic tax returns.
18. Contribute to continuous improvements in accounting policies, procedures, and finance functions to enhance productivity and meet business needs.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary budget: 7,000 - 8,500 AED per month + medical insurance, visa, and flights.
