Accountant - Dubai based (JLT) - Oil and Gas Company

RIG (Recruitment International Group) is working with an Oil and Gas company with an excellent name in the market. The Client is looking for an Accountant to join them with experience in UAE market. The role will be based in JLT.

Responsibilities:

• Recording of the journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded in the accounting system.
• Recording the sales and purchase invoices on weekly and monthly basis and coordinating to resolve the review points (this also includes to perform the VAT and Corporate Tax compliance checks).
• Preparing the periodic reconciliation of the account balances with clients and vendors.
• Reconciling bank accounts, petty cash, and credit card statements on a weekly basis.
• Weekly review of the project cashflow forecasts prepared by the PMs to check if they are aligned with the payables and receivables as per the accounting system.
• Preparing the weekly payment run and coordinating to get it approved.
• Manage and maintain accounting files and records as per best practices in Finance and ensuring all the internal and external financial reports are uploaded in Ottofiles (documentation software).
• Uploading the weekly approved payment run in the bank and coordinating to get it reviewed and authorized at the online banking.
• Recording the labour allocation and pay-slips in the accounting system and reconciling both to ensure compliance with the employment contracts and applicable labour laws.
• Recording monthly recurring entries and maintaining the schedules of the balance sheet items on a monthly basis.
• Preparing inter-company invoicing and monthly reconciling the inter-company balances between the Drakken entities.
• Managing the GL accounts of UESR (unrealized sales revenue) and WIP (work in progress) and preparing their monthly analysis.
• Performing the month-end closing tasks to ensure monthly accounting transactions are completely and accurately recorded within 5 working days following the month end.
• Assisting in preparing standalone financials and consolidated financials of the Drakken entities (compliant with the IFRS and local tax regulations) and preparing the related analysis.
• Assisting in preparing the financial budgets and various forecasts and preparing their periodic reviews.
• Liaising with external auditors, banks, and the tax authorities.
• Assisting in preparing and filing of periodic tax returns.
• Contributing to continuous improvement in the accounting policies and procedures and finance functions to improve productivity and cater to the business needs.

Salary: 8,000 - 9,000 AED per month + medical + visa + flights.
