Job summary

Evernex MEA in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Finance Accountant to strengthen our accounting function. You will manage client invoicing, collections, accounts payable, monthly closings and reporting, in collaboration with the Finance Manager MEA.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in accounting, 3 years of corporate accounting experience, VAT/tax knowledge, and fluency in Arabic and English. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems like Zoho, QuickBooks or SAP is preferred.

• Experience with VAT, tax filings and withholding.

Responsibilities

• Client invoicing, collections and follow-up on overdue accounts (Accounts Receivable).
• Supplier bookkeeping and payments (Accounts Payable).
• Monthly processing of employee expenses; bank and intercompany reconciliations.
• Monthly financial closing and reporting; coordinate with external auditors for year-end.
• Liaise with external consultant and ensure timely financial reporting to the Finance Manager MEA.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager MEA, this position will also offer the right candidate the opportunity to have an impact on all aspects of our Accounting function.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

You are responsible for, but not limited to:

• Primary responsibilities include client invoicing, collections, and follow-up on overdue accounts (Accounts Receivable); supplier bookkeeping and payments (Accounts Payable); monthly processing of employee expenses; bank and intercompany reconciliations; and monthly financial closing and reporting.
• Responsible for full accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all finance and accounting tasks for the assigned entities.
• Drive consistent and effective policies and procedures during monthly close process including account reconciliations, bookkeeping, accruals, and coordination with external auditors for year-end audit requirements and reporting
• Liase with external consultant on timely manner
• Ensure financial reports to the Finance Manager MEA in the reporting system

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT

• BS or higher in Business Administration/Accounting.
• 3 years relevant experience in corporate accounting/finance.
• Previous experience in tax filing (ie. VAT, Annual tax return, Withholding)
• Detailed knowledge of accounting and other relevant reporting standards.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Proficient in MS Office application.
• Experience with accounting systems such as Zoho, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and able to think analytically
