Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working in a firm offering auditing, accounting, bookkeeping, or business consultancy services , and must have more than 3 years of accounting experience . Hands-on experience with Zoho Books is essential. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further their career in a fast-paced and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Daily Transactions:

  • Record and categorize financial transactions accurately in Zoho Books.
  • Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including invoicing, payments, and collections.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and ensure timely and accurate recording of receipts and disbursements.

General Ledger Management:

  • Post journal entries, adjustments, and accruals to the general ledger.
  • Maintain and update the chart of accounts in Zoho Books.

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, Cash Flow Statement).
  • Identify and report financial discrepancies to senior management.

Tax & Compliance:

  • Support in the preparation and filing of VAT, GST, and other tax returns, ensuring full compliance with UAE tax regulations.
  • Ensure timely settlement of all tax obligations.

Zoho Books Expertise:

  • Utilize Zoho Books for day-to-day accounting operations and reporting.
  • Assist in optimizing and automating processes within Zoho Books.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Zoho Books issues in coordination with the finance team.

Month-End and Year-End Closing:

  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare schedules and support documentation for external and internal audits.

Audit & Internal Controls:

  • Support audit processes and help maintain strong internal controls.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in line with regulatory and organizational standards.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate with internal departments (HR, Sales, Operations) to address accounting queries.
  • Provide timely financial updates to senior accountants and management.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting within a firm providing auditing, accounting, bookkeeping, or business consultancy services .
  • Mandatory hands-on experience with Zoho Books .

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting principles.
  • High proficiency in Zoho Books (especially in invoicing, expense tracking, and reporting features).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
