Accountant

Short description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant for our client’s finance team to lead a small team and manage accounting operations across the UAE and KSA. The role includes overseeing financial processes, ensuring tax compliance, managing audits, and providing leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of local tax regulations, accounting across multiple jurisdictions, and proficiency in Arabic. Maritime and Offshore Energy experience is a plus.

Function description

• Lead and manage a team of 4 accounting staff.
• Oversee payroll processing and the PO/Invoice cycle for accuracy.
• Manage bookkeeping records for UAE and KSA entities.
• Supervise month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Ensure tax compliance and prepare filings for UAE (VAT, Corporate Tax) and KSA (VAT, Zakat, WHT).
• Coordinate the external audit process and prepare related documentation.
• Oversee petty cash management and assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, CA).
• 5-7+ years of accounting experience, including team leadership.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and tax regulations in UAE and KSA.
• Experience managing tax compliance and accounting functions in both regions.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Arabic Speaker
