Job summary

Job Title: Accountant – Renewable Energy

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with proven experience in the renewables sector to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the financial dynamics within clean energy, including project financing, regulatory compliance, and cost allocation for solar, wind, or energy storage projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including AP/AR, general ledger, and month-end close.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, budgets, and forecasts specific to renewable energy projects.
• Monitor project costs, CAPEX, OPEX, and ensure proper cost allocation across various assets.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
• Support project finance teams with financial modelling and reporting for renewable energy investments.
• Track and report on carbon credits, subsidies, and government incentives.
• Assist in implementing financial controls and best practices specific to the energy sector.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or ACCA preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience in the renewable energy industry (solar, wind, hydro, or similar).
• Familiarity with project-based accounting and multi-entity structures.
• Knowledge of industry-specific financial reporting and compliance (e.g. PPA, FIT schemes, green bonds).
• Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and Excel.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
