AW Connect is seeking an experienced General Accountant in Dubai to manage day-to-day accounting, ensure accuracy, and support statutory compliance. The role emphasizes French accounting standards and collaboration with auditors and management.

Required 5+ years in accounting with French and English fluency, and Big 4 experience. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems is essential for timely month-end closing and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting or finance.
• French accounting experience is mandatory.
• Big 4 experience is mandatory.
• Fluent in French and English (written and spoken).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Record and reconcile financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and capital expenditure documentation.
• Prepare financial reports and support management reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and local regulatory requirements.
• Support VAT preparation, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
• Assist external auditors during annual audits and provide required documentation.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen financial controls.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
