Dubai Heights Academy is a warm and welcoming place to work. Located in the Al Barsha South area of Dubai, this is an exciting opportunity to join our team.
The school opened in 2017. It offers an inclusive, exciting and outstanding education to an international community of students from FS1 to Year 12 (2025-2026) and will continue to grow organically to Year 13.
The campus is state-of-the-art with separate buildings for each phase as well as a 380 seat auditorium. There are three temperature controlled swimming pools, fully equipped science and computer labs, specialist rooms for art, DT, music, and drama, a library, two multipurpose sports halls, a full size football pitch, a variety of outdoor play areas and a spacious canteen. The academic year 2025-2026 will see the opening of a brand new secondary building, significantly enhancing the current facilities.
Dubai Heights Academy provides a curriculum that meets the needs of all of our students and follows the National Curriculum for England as the basis of its curriculum. This has been tailored to comply with local requirements and supplemented with Arabic language, Islamic Studies, Moral Education and Social Studies. In addition, Dubai Heights Academy has partnered with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) to develop and deliver a bespoke AI (artificial intelligence) project-based programme for secondary and an early language programme using social robots for Primary, to further enrich our broad and balanced curriculum.

Responsibilities
Receive and review purchase requests from various departments.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of purchase requests, ensuring they comply with company policies and budgetary guidelines.
Communicate with department heads or requestors to clarify details or obtain necessary approvals
Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Ensure suppliers are paid in a timely manner
Process petty cash requests
Manage supplier contracts
Assist departments with quotes from vendors for goods or services and evaluate quotes.
Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure favourable pricing and terms for the organisation.
Coordinate annual orders for recurring supplies or services.
Assist the Finance Manager in working with departments to forecast their annual needs and place orders accordingly.
Assist Finance manager with VAT compliance
Accurately calculate and record VAT on applicable purchases and expenses.
Maintain petty cash funds and ensure proper documentation of all disbursements and replenishments.
Reconcile petty cash transactions regularly to ensure accuracy and accountability.
Reconcile credit card transactions and ensure it is paid in time
Process online orders for office supplies, equipment, or other goods as needed.
Support and assist other members of the finance team and understand their processes to provide cover during peak times and annual leave
Essential
Professional accounting/financial or related qualification
Have a minimum of 2 years experience in accounting field
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong written and oral communication skills
Have exceptional organisational, administrative and IT skills (particularly Excel / google sheets)
Be flexible and adaptable to work with the changing needs of the school, including working outside of regular school operational hours, when required
Extensive experience as accounts receivable and accounts payable
Evidence of continuous professional development
A creative, tenacious, self-motivated individual who thrives under pressure
Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of accounting.
A team player that is willing to assist other members of the team when required
