Your new company

I am seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join my client in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UAE VAT regulations, audit processes, and financial reporting. This role will be primarily responsible for managing the accounting functions of our commodity trading division, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely reporting.

Your new role
  • Maintain accurate financial records for the commodity trading team, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledgers.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring timely provision of required documentation.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Monitor and analyse trading transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the trading division.
  • Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
What you'll need to succeed
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) is a plus.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the commodity trading or financial services sector.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws and filing procedures.
  • Experience with audit preparation and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
