Job Title: Bookkeeper & Accountant
Location: Dubai, UAE
Job Type: Full-time
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years in UAE

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial transactions and ensure full compliance with UAE accounting standards and VAT regulations. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in the UAE and be well-versed in local accounting practices, bank reconciliations, VAT filing, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho, Tally, Xero).
  • Prepare and post journal entries, update general ledger, and reconcile accounts.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority requirements.
  • Generate financial reports such as profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Handle payroll processing in accordance with UAE labor laws.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and banks when necessary.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of UAE experience in bookkeeping and accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of UAE VAT laws and FTA compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other financial tools.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple clients/accounts.
Preferred:
  • Experience working with Freezone and Mainland companies.
  • Knowledge of corporate bank account handling in UAE.
  • Ability to liaise with government departments (e.g., FTA, DED)
