We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and reliable Accountant to join our client's freight forwarding company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, VAT compliance, and basic administrative and procurement duties. This role also supports cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Finance:
- Create job files and generate all types of invoices, including Commercial, Regular, and VAT invoices.
- Process bank transfers for overseas agents.
- Prepare and submit fortnightly sales reports.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collections and payments.
- Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, petty cash, and customer statements.
- Track and record company expenses with proper documentation and filing.
- Scan and send invoices to customers promptly.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
VAT & Compliance:
- Handle VAT-related tasks including preparation, documentation, follow-ups, and payments.
- Coordinate with the VAT Helpdesk; manage previous cases and maintain email records.
- Ensure timely submission and compliance with VAT regulations and audit readiness.
Procurement & Office Supplies:
- Manage the procurement of office utilities and supplies:
- Job folders, envelopes, and stationery.
- Stickers (AWB labels, barcode labels, DGR labels).
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed to avoid shortages.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain service records for company vehicles and plan regular maintenance.
- Support general administrative functions to ensure smooth office operations.
Other Duties:
- Collaborate with the operations and sales teams by providing accurate financial insights and reports as required.
- Identify and suggest improvements in financial and administrative workflows.
- Perform ad hoc tasks and assignments as delegated by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum [X] years of relevant experience, preferably in freight forwarding or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of VAT rules and compliance in the UAE.
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary : AED 6500
