A leading hotel chain in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Maintenance Technician. This role involves responding to repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the equipment is functioning properly. The ideal candidate possesses general maintenance skills and a high school diploma. The position offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment focusing on guest satisfaction and equipment reliability, maintaining a professional and safe atmosphere.
POSITION SUMMARY
Respond to guest repair requests and attend to maintenance issues. Communicate effectively with guests and team members. Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify and operate all shutoff valves and utility shutoffs for buildings. Maintain inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication methods. Demonstrate basic knowledge or ability to learn about air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building systems. Perform surface preparation, painting, drywall, minor wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and cleanup of work areas. Test, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and manage inventory related to housekeeping and engineering. Use Lockout/Tagout procedures for maintenance. Perform repairs on landscaping and sprinklers. Display basic computer skills, including inputting schedules and adjusting temperatures.
Follow all safety, security, and company policies. Report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries. Complete safety training and certifications. Properly store flammable materials. Maintain a professional appearance, confidentiality, and protect company assets. Greet and acknowledge guests, anticipate needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. Adhere to quality standards. Develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond to colleagues' concerns. Communicate clearly and professionally. Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently; heavier objects with assistance. Navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Use computers to access work-related information. Perform other reasonable duties as requested.
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting. Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
Supervisory Experience: None.
License or Certification: Driver's License.
