Job summary

WSP in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design for major infrastructure and masterplanning projects across the region. You will oversee concept through detailed design and construction support, coordinating inputs from roads, utilities, drainage, structures and public realm.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and a track record of delivering large-scale projects with UAE authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent preferred.
• 10–15 years of infrastructure/masterplanning design delivery experience.
• Experience with UAE authorities and local approvals.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced consultancy environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams from concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Coordinate design inputs across roads, utilities, drainage, structures, and public realm.
• Act as the primary design interface with clients, authorities, and stakeholders in Abu Dhabi and the Middle East.
• Manage design programmes, budgets, resources, and deliverables to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi authority standards, codes, and approval processes.
• Lead design risk management, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
• Support bid preparation, technical proposals, and client presentations.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to design management capability.
