Support Seamless Events with Technology Excellence
At InterContinental Abu Dhabi, we host everything from high-level corporate functions to grand social events. Behind each successful event is a dependable A/V Technician, ensuring every sound, screen, and system operates flawlessly. We’re looking for a technically skilled and service-driven professional to join our IT Department as an A/V Technician.

Reporting to the IT Manager, the A/V Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio-visual and presentation systems used throughout the hotel’s meeting spaces, ballrooms, and event venues. You will collaborate closely with the Events, Banqueting, and Engineering teams to support both guest and internal functions.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly do:

  • Set up and operate all audio-visual systems including microphones, speakers, projectors, LED screens, mixers, and lighting for events.
  • Coordinate video conferencing and hybrid meeting setups using platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
  • Perform routine testing, maintenance, and safe storage of A/V equipment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues promptly during events to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Liaise with clients and internal departments to understand event-specific technical requirements.
  • Maintain proper inventory of equipment and manage asset tracking.
  • Support IT functions during low event activity, as directed by the IT Manager.

What we need from you:

  • 1–2 years of experience in A/V operations, preferably in hospitality, events, or IT environments.
  • Solid understanding of sound systems, projectors, LED displays, mixers, video conferencing systems, and basic networking.
  • Strong troubleshooting and time management skills.
  • Professional communication and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to lift and install equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays based on event schedules.
