Key Responsibilities
- Teach Secondary A Level English through well-planned, engaging, and academically challenging lessons.
- Develop students' skills in literary analysis, critical reading, essay writing, communication, and independent interpretation.
- Plan lessons that support curriculum requirements, examination preparation, and high-quality learning outcomes.
- Use assessment evidence, feedback, and progress data to support student improvement and academic achievement.
- Create a classroom culture where students are encouraged to think deeply, discuss confidently, and write with clarity.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share outstanding practice, strengthen curriculum planning, and support consistent teaching standards.
- Apply creative and evidence-informed teaching strategies that reflect current educational best practice.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders to support learning and wellbeing.
- Contribute to extra-curricular activities, community events, enrichment programmes, and wider school life.

Ideal Profile
- BEd or Bachelor's degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Secondary A Level English.
- Strong English subject knowledge with the ability to support high academic performance.
- Proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching.
- Ability to teach literature, language, critical thinking, and written expression with confidence and creativity.
- Reflective, solution-focused, and willing to collaborate with colleagues.
- Creative and enthusiastic teaching approach that supports student engagement and progress.
