Assist in maintaining and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment onboard the vessel.

Attend and participate in all required Safety and Operational meetings. Participate fully in the annual performance appraisal process, competency assessments based on performance against Operational Discipline requirements. Complete company training requirements for the 3rd Assistant Engineer job level as per the training matrix, including in local/regulatory requirements. If applicable, observe the duties and responsibilities in the safety case for this position. Full participation in emergency drills and respond to emergency situations as per assigned duties on the station bill.
Disciplined application and participation in the Task Planning & Risk Assessment Process. This includes understanding and performing roles and responsibilities at pre-job meetings, understanding hazards, implementing control measures, executing tasks as per procedures, recognizing at-risk behavior, and participating in After Action Reviews.
Protect personnel, environment, and assets by eliminating hazards and reducing risks. Understand and execute Company OI & HSE requirements. Call a Time Out when unsafe conditions are observed. Use WorkSight ENGAGE during work execution. Report incidents or hazards. Incorporate the Control of Work process. Maintain a safe work area. Understand emergency roles and participate in drills.
The duties are expected to be carried out in compliance with the Company Operational Discipline and HSE requirements. Tasks include ensuring conformance to policies, performing inspections and maintenance, assisting with troubleshooting, maintaining equipment, applying permit systems, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Personnel management includes promoting good relationships, ensuring training and competency, mentoring, coaching, developing, and providing leadership to the maintenance crew. Participate in performance appraisals and recognize achievements.
