A leading company in the maritime sector is seeking a 2nd / 3rd Engineer to maintain and optimize technical systems on offshore installation vessels. This role demands a background in marine engineering, specific knowledge of offshore operations, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment. As a 2nd / 3rd Engineer, you are responsible for the condition and maintenance of the technical installations on board our offshore installation vessels, such as the Nexus, Calypso, and Aeolus. You work in a 12-hour rotation and report to the Chief Engineer to maintain and optimize the technical systems on board.
As a 2nd / 3rd Engineer, you are responsible for preparing, planning, and executing specific maintenance projects. This includes:
• Maintaining, optimizing, and improving the engine room and technical systems in close collaboration with the Chief Engineer.
• Carrying out regular maintenance and repairs on technical installations to ensure optimal performance.
• Instructing, organizing, supervising, and motivating assigned crew members.
• Contributing to a positive working atmosphere and the development of the crew.
• Maintaining ship administration in accordance with Van Oord standards.
• Preparing, planning, and executing specific maintenance projects as a Day Engineer.
You have a background in the maritime sector and are independent, stress-resistant, and flexible. Additionally, you have a good command of the English language and possess the necessary documents to work within the EU.
Furthermore:
• You hold a qualification as MarOff or Marine Engineer at MBO or HBO level.
• You have at least three years of experience as a 2nd / 3rd Engineer on vessels with DP (Dynamic Positioning) or heavy lift and installation operations.
• You have specific knowledge and experience with offshore installation vessels.
• You hold a DP Maintenance Certificate and the required STCW documents.
