Aldar Education are currently seeking a Teacher - Primary - Year 6 - (Immediate Start) for Al Shohub Private School to support our growing family of owned and operated schools in the UAE. Al Shohub Private School is a British curriculum, part of Aldar Schools, offering a mixed gender primary education located in Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi. Main Duties

Main Duties

• To deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
• Teamwork and collaboration; be a good communicator at all levels.
• Commit to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.
• Work with parents to support happiness and strong academic outcomes for all children.
• Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support children’s development.

Specific Duties

Teaching and learning

• Clear understanding of the Curriculum.
• Organise classroom provision and learning resources; create displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Plan, prepare and present sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
• Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
• Reflect on classroom provision and adjust environment, planning and curriculum as needed.
• Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.
• Embed the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.

Assessment And Data

• Take responsibility for the progress of a class.
• Meet requirements for assessment and recording of student development using Target Tracker.
• Use data from assessments to influence planning, provision and intervention.
• Provide feedback to parents and carers on student progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behaviour management and duties

• Follow the school's behaviour policy.
• Manage classes effectively to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
• Maintain good relationships with pupils; exercise appropriate authority as needed within policy.
• Be a positive role model and demonstrate the attitudes, values and behaviour expected of pupils.
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence.
• Carry out duties as directed within the school’s policy.

Wider Professional Responsibilities

• Work as part of a curriculum action group to support planning, assessment, resources and events.
• Organise and participate in school events, outings and activities, including weekends or evenings if required.
• Communicate effectively with parents/carers using school systems such as CPOMS as appropriate.
• Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
• Run a weekly ECA each term.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 2 years teaching experience within a British curriculum school.
• Specific experience in Year 6 is advantageous.
