Aldar Education are currently seeking a Teacher - Primary - Year 6 - (Immediate Start) for Al Shohub Private School to support our growing family of owned and operated schools in the UAE. Al Shohub Private School is a British curriculum, part of Aldar Schools, offering a mixed gender primary education located in Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi. The school was founded in 1999 and is guided by the requirements of our regulatory body, ADEK. Main Duties
Main Duties
- To deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
- Teamwork and collaboration; be a good communicator at all levels.
- Commit to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.
- Work with parents to support happiness and strong academic outcomes for all children.
- Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support children’s development.
Specific Duties
Teaching and learning
- Clear understanding of the Curriculum.
- Organise classroom provision and learning resources; create displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Plan, prepare and present sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
- Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
- Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
- Reflect on classroom provision and adjust environment, planning and curriculum as needed.
- Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.
- Embed the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.
Assessment And Data
- Take responsibility for the progress of a class.
- Meet requirements for assessment and recording of student development using Target Tracker.
- Use data from assessments to influence planning, provision and intervention.
- Provide feedback to parents and carers on student progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behaviour management and duties
- Follow the school's behaviour policy.
- Manage classes effectively to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
- Maintain good relationships with pupils; exercise appropriate authority as needed within policy.
- Be a positive role model and demonstrate the attitudes, values and behaviour expected of pupils.
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence.
- Carry out duties as directed within the school’s policy.
Wider Professional Responsibilities
- Work as part of a curriculum action group to support planning, assessment, resources and events.
- Organise and participate in school events, outings and activities, including weekends or evenings if required.
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers using school systems such as CPOMS as appropriate.
- Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
- Run a weekly ECA each term.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teaching qualification.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience within a British curriculum school.
- Specific experience in Year 6 is advantageous.

- Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
- High level of professionalism and concern for the well-being of children.
- Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
- Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age or ethnic background.
- Positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.
- Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check or police check.
