Job Overview

Aldar Academies is currently seeking a Teacher - Food & Nutrition at Yas American Academy on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi starting AY2025/26.

Yas American Academy opened in September 2016 providing high quality education to the Emirate. Main Duties

Specific Duties - Teaching and Learning

• Understand the Curriculum thoroughly.
• Organize classroom provision and learning resources; create displays to foster a positive learning environment.
• Plan, prepare, and present sessions catering to all ability levels.
• Motivate pupils through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching.
• Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
• Reflect on classroom sessions, progress, and adjust planning and environment accordingly.
• Meet with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists as needed.
• Embed the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.

Assessment and Data

• Take responsibility for the progress of the class.
• Meet assessment and recording requirements using Target Tracker.
• Use assessment data to influence planning, provision, and intervention.
• Provide feedback to parents and carers during Parent-Teacher Conferences and meetings.

Behavior Management and Duties

• Follow the school's behavior policy.
• Manage classes effectively, inspiring, motivating, and challenging pupils.
• Maintain good relationships with pupils and exercise appropriate authority.
• Act as a positive role model, demonstrating expected attitudes and behaviors.
• Maintain high expectations of behavior, promoting self-control and independence.
• Perform duties as directed within the school's policy.

Wider Professional Responsibilities

• Support planning, assessment, resources, and events as part of a curriculum action group.

Minimum Qualifications
