Job Title: Registered Nurse: Medical Ward

Location: Clinix Tshepo Themba Private Hospital (Soweto)

Reports to: Unit Manager

To plan, monitor, coordinate, and oversee the unit’s operations and processes to ensure quality patient care and the overall running of the unit. This includes managing ward clerks, RNs, ENs, and ENAs, as well as mentoring, coaching, training, and developing nursing staff. Additionally, responsible for managing the unit budget, ensuring cost savings, and stakeholder engagement.

• Diploma in General Nursing
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council
• BLS Qualification

• At least 2 years of experience in a Medical Ward is essential
• Experience within a private hospital environment is advantageous

• BSc in Nursing (advantageous)
• Updated ACLS/PALS/ATLS (advantageous)

• Perform nursing duties in accordance with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH), and National Core Standards
• Adhere to principles and standards of patient advocacy according to SANC Acts, Company Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter, and other relevant standards
• Supervise, organize, lead, and control the quality of care for self and team, adhering to therapeutic standards and goals
• Participate in internal and external audits (e.g., DOH, National Core Standards, SHERQ, SANC, Risk Audits)
• Maintain accurate files and records of patient medication, conduct ward rounds, and create/evaluate care plans with doctors
• Monitor nursing activities to ensure compliance with protocols, security, safety, and policies
