A healthcare organization in Johannesburg is seeking a qualified nurse to provide holistic nursing care and supervise junior staff. The ideal candidate must have a Diploma in Nursing, be registered with SANC, and have at least 3 years of nursing experience. Responsibilities include accurate documentation, administering medication, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This permanent position requires professionalism, compassion, and the ability to mentor new staff members.

- Complete and implement nursing care plans as per assessment.
- Accurate nursing documentation based on observation & assessment.
- Implement planned co-ordinated care by the MDT.
- Administer medication and ensure doctor’s instructions are followed.
- Utilise clinical judgement to treat acutely ill residents.
- Supervise junior staff and maintain safety and hygiene standards.
- Handle and resolve complaints within the team.

Location: Sandringham, Johannesburg

Provide holistic and quality nursing care to residents on a daily basis.
- Accurate nursing documentation based on observation & assessment of the resident daily
- Nursing care plan completion and implementation thereof as per assessment needs of the resident
- Implement planned co-ordinated care by MDT
- Detailed assessment and treatment of ailments once reported, and referral thereafter as required
- Administration of medication
- Ensure instructions/orders given in doctor’s rounds are implemented and documented
- Adhere to all nursing and general policy and procedures as per organisation and nursing department.
- Medical equipment accounted for and in working order
- Utilise clinical judgement to refer and treat acutely ill/emergency residents
- Liaise and inform families when resident is unwell, non-compliant or of any significant concerns
- Facilitate admission to hospital as required
- Supervise junior staff and assess residents regularly for possible clinical risks
- Accurate recordkeeping and documentation of risks with photos etc.
- Ensure residents and communal areas are hygienic and safe
- Ensure infection control procedures are utilised at all times by all staff and use of PPEs
- Accurate delegation of staff, according to scope of practice
- Orientation of new staff
- Report and handle complaints from residents/staff/family
- Ensure that junior staff adhere and comply with all documentation and care as per policies
- Facilitate cohesive teamwork that provides quality care
- Performance manage junior staff as required
- Handling and resolving complaints
- Check all ward stock and medical equipment
- No expired stock in ward
- Log and report all central facilities requests eg. Maintenance, transport as per policy
- Diploma in Nursing
- Registered with SANC
