Job description

ROLE SUMMARY

Perform and implement the TCF Automated Intelligent System (AIS) function for continuous improvement to achieve SQDCPME (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, and the Environment) objectives.

POSITION DETAILS

  1. Attend all meetings outlined in the Process Technician Time and Data, as well as ad hoc meetings as required by the business.
  2. Deliver assigned tasks on time.
  3. Implement new standards issued.
  4. Confirm and maintain current standards.
  5. Ensure team members adhere to all standards at all times.
  6. Support issues raised by the teams.
  7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  8. Manage changes within the area of responsibility.
  9. Understand and implement engineering changes to processes.
  10. Understand MTC, verify the package, and assist with implementation.
  11. Conduct a 1-hour start-up before production to validate all TCF and Body Shop AIS error-proofing systems and connections are operational.
  12. Configure online processes needed by Process Technicians and Coaches.
  13. Understand and provide feedback on error-proofing issues via the Error Proofing website to the Lead Engineer.
  14. Provide first-line support for failures caused by AIS (Process Alignment).
  15. Remove faulty equipment from the line and diagnose the cause of faults.
  16. Support the Constraints meeting by providing root causes and corrective actions.
  17. Set up AIS components as spares for quick response during breakdowns.
  18. Identify daily improvements through error-proofing Kaizens.
  19. Identify near misses.
  20. Support VOME on new process changes related to error-proofing.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • National Diploma in IT, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years in the automotive process engineering industry.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Resolve all AIS/error-proofing issues.
  • Reduce concerns caused by AIS/scanning in releases.
  • Maintain close working relationships with CEC controls and IT departments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in PC use, MS Office (Excel, Word).
  • Understanding of role requirements as detailed above.
  • Good understanding of IT systems.
  • Willingness to work shifts.
