Job description

ROLE SUMMARY

The incumbents will be based at the Silverton Assembly Plant and will be responsible for the overall learning material design & development, coordinate, conduct training programmes in line with Framing/Chassis Manufacturing Stream requirements.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Develop Framing/Chassis Manufacturing Stream AMIC {CORE & SKILLS} learning material, core and skills assessment documentation and training validation assessments.
  • Design specific training programmes for Framing/Chassis Manufacturingin line with Training Needs Analysis (TNA) of the area requirements.
  • Organize and prepare for training delivery e.g. of (for new product Launch, facelift programs (OPD’s), special training requirements) the individual must be able to formulate appropriate training material for example, training plans, training schedules, trainer guides, learner guides and Formative and Summative assessment documentsfor training purposes.
  • Co-ordinate all necessary training for Framing/Chassis Manufacturingtechnical related personnel including: electrical/mechanical/ mechanical fitting
  • Coordinate new generation Chassis Robotic welding, Mig welding/Co2 Welding and specialized body framing Welding.
  • Oversee body parts identification and assembly and joining of chassis parts through welding process.
  • Coordinate the artisan multi-skilling training related programmes with the relevant workshop management. This includes covering both the practical and theoretical aspects of the relevant Team Member and Artisan training programmes and refer matters to Technical Training Workshop Supervisor.
  • The Technical Trainer to follow all protocols for;
    • Core & Skills Assessments Competency
    • Facilitating Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) assessments Process
    • Records management and input to relevant archive system
  • Set-up meetings with the respective Framing/Chassis Manufacturing area management to determine and assist the Framing/Chassis Plant in developing training needs year on year.
  • Evaluate training impact to the business and develop case impact studies
  • Perform administrative task and maintaining all training records
  • Revision of applicable CORE and Skills assessments
  • Coordinate NCAMA workplace rotation to cover learnership elective assessments and learning
  • Facilitate AMIC writing, Marking and draft skill level movement of team members
  • Versatility reporting of the area.
  • Assist with the implementation of Ford Production Systems (FPS) and ensuring adherence to the system
  • Complete any reasonable tasks inline with technical training as instructed by training associate
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • N4 to N6 Qualification + Trade Certificate in Millwright/ Electrician or Mechatronics related trade or
  • National Diploma in Mechatronics or Mechatronics Technical Certificate (NTC 6) (plus) or
  • B-Tech Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering
  • Extensive knowledge in automation systems.
  • 3 to 4 years’ relevant learning and development experience in the automotive manufacturing or heavy-duty production environment will be an added advantage
  • ODETDP will be an added advantage to this post
  • Must be prepared to work shifts and overtime

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Understanding of South Africa Qualification Authority (SAQA), National Qualification Framework (NQF), Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services (Merseta) and learnerships
  • Knowledge on training programme development in terms of outcomes/competence
  • Experience with writing and/or maintaining documentation such as user manuals
  • Experience in technical training delivery
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical equipment (press equipment, tool setting, conveyors, pumps, hoist, and crane operations etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
