Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a prominent community and social care organisation in Pietermaritzburg to appoint a Youth Outreach Coordinator who will spearhead engagement with at-risk youth and connect them to vital resources and services.

You will develop outreach programs, facilitate workshops, build strong relationships with schools and centres, mentor young people, and ensure accurate reporting while flexible hours support KwaZulu-Natal communities.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Social Work, Youth Development, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience in youth work, community development, or social outreach.
• Strong understanding of adolescent development.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage youth outreach programs and activities.
• Engage directly with young people in diverse community settings.
• Identify the needs of youth and connect them with education, employment, mental health, etc.
• Organise and facilitate workshops, group sessions, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with local schools, community centres, and other organisations to maximise reach.
