Placements24 in Pretoria is seeking a dynamic Youth Development Worker to design and deliver programs that empower young people, foster personal growth, and equip them with essential life skills. You will work directly with youth aged 12-18 in community and school settings, provide mentorship, plan workshops, track progress, and connect participants with support services.

The role requires a diploma or degree in youth work or related field and at least two years' experience, with flexible hours

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Youth Work, Social Work, Education or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth in community/educational settings.
• Experience in program planning and facilitation for youth engagement.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures.
• Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends in the Pretoria community.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and facilitate engaging activities and workshops for youth aged 12-18.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to young participants, fostering social, emotional and educational development.
• Identify needs and connect youth with relevant support services and opportunities.
• Build positive relationships with youth, parents, schools and community organizations in Pretoria.
• Maintain records of participant engagement, progress and outcomes.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive environment during program activities.
