Job summary

Curro Pretoria in Pretoria is seeking energetic candidates for a part-time YES Programme: Sport role commencing January 2027. The stipend-based position supports coaching, athlete development, and event logistics within the school’s sports programme. Preference given to EE candidates and a fixed-term contract of 12 months.

Ideal for youth aged 18–34 who are unemployed and living close to the school, with a passion for sport, teamwork, and reliability.

Qualifications

• South African youth between 18 and 34 years old.
• Must be previously unemployed.
• Living close to the Curro school you’re applying for.
• Available and willing to work a fixed term 12-month contract.
• Energetic, reliable, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Coaching Sessions and support senior coaches in planning and running practices.
• Encourage learner participation, motivation, and team spirit during practices and matches.
• Help with setting up sports fields, equipment, and event logistics for matches, tournaments and festivals.
• Assist with tracking attendance, recording results, and ensuring learners are correctly dressed and prepared.
• Support communication of fixtures, results, and events to parents and the school community.
• Learn from experienced coaches, attend training workshops, and apply new skills to improve coaching ability.
• Help with basic admin tasks such as responding to emails, updating schedules, and maintaining records.
• Promote Curro’s ethos and values through professional behaviour, reliability, and teamwork.

Key performance areas

Qualifications, experience and skills

• South African youth between 18 and 34 years old.
• Must be previously unemployed.
• The range starts from R 5 241,00 - R 6 000,00
• Qualification in Sports Management, Coaching, Physical Education, or a related field.
• Living close to the Curro school you’re applying for.
• Available and willing to work a fixed term 12-month contract
• Energetic, reliable, and team-oriented.
