FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN - MILLWRIGHT - JOHANNESBURG
Main Purpose of the Job :
To assist in ensuring the efficiency and productivity of the Workshop
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting, repair of complex machinery in a professional / timely manner.
- Reading and understanding of manuals / blueprints / diagrams / mechanical schematics and electrical diagrams.
- Running trials / tests on equipment and interpreting the results into further recommendations
- Undertaking installation / commissioning / training on equipment.
- Writing up reports based on findings / service on equipment
- Performing routine maintenance on complex equipment at site or in the workshop.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and use technical judgement on complex tasks.
- Prompt assistance / advice to customers with queries / breakdowns in an appropriate manner.
- Ensure customers’ expectations are exceeded in respect to quality and service.
- Respond immediately to requests for workshop breakdowns from customers.
- Action customer services as per the schedule.
- Analyse the cause of the problem.
- Arrange quotes for customers to authorise repairs.
- Ensure arranged and required spares are arranged to complete the job.
- Maintain safety standards both in-house and for customers.
- Form part of the standby team.
Requirements
- Qualified Millwright with an electrical background ( 5 years plus experience).
- Experience in the FMCG sector is a MUST!
- It's important to note that this role does not entail working in a factory; instead, it involves visiting clients all over Gauteng to repair machinery that is too large to transport, hence the need for technicians to travel to the client's location.
- Given the extensive travel required to reach clients across Gauteng / KZN, this position is best described as that of a Field Service Technician (FST).
- Must be available for on-call duty every second week, which may include Saturdays and Sundays (operational hours are from 7 : 30 am to 5 : 30 pm).
- Must be able to work independently, demonstrate initiative, manage multiple job cards, meet tight deadlines, be self-driven, computer literate, and have good communication skills.
- Proficiency in Afrikaans (as the client base the successful candidate will be servicing is predominantly Afrikaans speaking)
