Communicate Finance in Gauteng is seeking a Workshop Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a large AC motor repair workshop, ensuring safety, quality and productivity.

You will plan activities, allocate resources, supervise assembly, disassembly, refurbishment and testing, and drive on-time delivery in a heavy industrial setting.

The role requires strong technical knowledge and proven leadership to motivate teams and meet project deadlines.

Formación

• Experience rebuilding and refurbishing large AC motors.
• Knowledge of motor assembly, disassembly and repair procedures.
• Previous supervisory or workshop management experience.
• Experience in motor repair in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to manage and motivate workshop personnel.
• Experience driving productivity, quality and safety standards.
• Strong planning, organisational and project coordination skills.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the motor repair workshop. The successful candidate will oversee personnel involved in the assembly, disassembly, refurbishment and testing of large AC electric motors while ensuring safety, quality and productivity standards are maintained.

You will be responsible for planning workshop activities, managing workflow, allocating resources, supporting project execution and ensuring refurbishment projects are completed within required timeframes. The role requires a strong technical understanding of electrical rotating equipment combined with proven leadership abilities.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience rebuilding and refurbishing large AC electric motors
• Strong knowledge of motor assembly, disassembly and repair procedures
• Previous supervisory or workshop management experience
• Experience within motor repair, rotating equipment, mining, manufacturing or heavy industrial environments
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities
• Ability to manage and motivate workshop personnel
• Experience driving productivity, quality and safety standards
• Strong planning, organisational and project coordination skills

Qualification:

• Red Seal Trade Test advantageous
• Electrical Trade Qualification preferred
• Engineering Diploma, National Diploma or related qualification advantageous
