Job description

  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians and artisans within the workshop.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all plant machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure minimal downtime by implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Manage workshop budgets, inventory, and procurement of tools, parts, and consumables.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing goals.
  • Enforce health and safety standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Train and develop team members to build a strong, efficient, and motivated workforce.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and safety inspections

Requirements :

  • Matric (Grade 12) and a relevant technical qualification (e.g., Mechanical / Electrical Trade Test or Diploma).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of workshop operations, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to the manufacturing industry.
