SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Workshop Foreman or Junior Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our automotive workshop. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient workflow, maintain high-quality service standards, and lead a team of technicians and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workshop Operations: Manage day-to-day activities, ensuring timely completion of repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor workshop personnel, including mechanics and technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets established quality standards and complies with safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability and minimizing downtime.
  • Customer Interaction: Interface with customers to understand their requirements, provide estimates, and ensure satisfaction with services rendered.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory, preparing reports for management as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing workshop efficiency and implement necessary changes.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Matric / Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Qualifications: Relevant trade-tested qualification (e.g., Motor Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic).
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a supervisory role within an automotive workshop, preferably with experience in earthmoving equipment.
  • Licenses: Valid driver's license.
  • Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and servicing technical equipment; ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules
