A leading organization in vehicle manufacturing is seeking a Workshop Foreman to oversee workshop operations in Durban. The successful candidate will lead a team of technicians, ensuring work is performed to high standards and customer satisfaction is prioritized. Applicants should have a Diesel Technician qualification, several years of workshop experience, and strong leadership skills to effectively manage team performance.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Diesel Technician with Trade certificate.
  • 3-5 years technical workshop experience, preferably with supervisory/Team Leader experience.
  • Valid Heavy Vehicle license.
  • Medically fit.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the direct work in the workshop and supervise daily staff activities.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and compliance with Scania standards.
  • Manage team dynamics and address any workmanship issues immediately.

The Workshop Foreman is responsible for leading the direct work in the workshop. Supervision of daily staff activities. They need to ensure that the work is carried out according to applicable instructions, rational and economic way for both the customer and the company. Ensuring high level of customer satisfaction is met consistently. Ensure relevant technical literature is in place providing guidance where required. - Ensure that Technicians comply with Scania Standards. - Ensure necessary control of workshop equipment, vehicles and special tools. - Observe and follow directives given in policies, instructions as well as SHEQ. Address any issues of poor workmanship immediately. - End to end management of team assigned.

Applicants must meet these minimum requirements
  • Qualified Diesel Technician with Trade certificate
  • 3-5 years technical workshop experience, of which experience in supervising/Team Leader in a workshop environment would be an added advantage.
  • Valid Heavy Vehicle licence
  • Medically Fit
