Job Opportunity: Workshop & Field Service Technicians

We are seeking experienced WORKSHOP & FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIANS for permanent positions based in Cape Town.

Position Details:

Salary & Start Date:

Market-related TCTC, negotiable based on experience. Start date: ASAP or negotiable.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain MEWP equipment through inspections and preventive maintenance, correcting deficiencies, and ensuring mine-specific requirements are met.
2. Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine equipment condition, identify worn or damaged parts, and report findings.
3. Ensure equipment availability by monitoring and completing scheduled maintenance, installing components, and managing upgrades and corrosion control.
4. Verify equipment performance with functional tests, adjustments, and system controls.
5. Maintain records of all maintenance and repairs.
6. Ensure compliance with MEWP standards by maintaining up-to-date documentation, including safety stickers, onboard documentation, and mine-specific records.
7. Keep operational tools and spares organized for troubleshooting and repairs.
8. Participate in standby and call-out duties as required.
9. Perform PDI (Post Delivery Inspection) with customers, recording damages or snags.
10. Manage stock, including monthly vehicle stock-takes and maintaining standard stock levels.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Trade Test: Millwright, Diesel, Auto, Electrical, or similar qualification.
• Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in maintenance and repair of MWEP or similar material handling equipment.
• At least 2 years' experience in technical field and workshop services.
• Knowledge of MEWP operations, hydraulics, engine mechanics, electrical systems, and schematics.
• Understanding of safety management and risk assessment.
• Proficiency with mechanical, hydraulic, electric, and electronic tools.
• Drivers license required.
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with inventory control.
