Wits Health Consortium : Data Capturers (12 Months Contract)

Main purpose of the job: To accurately and timeously capture data, conduct data quality control checks, and clean data on captured patient information on electronic patient records.

Location: Johannesburg, Parktown

Responsibilities:

1. Create and capture new patient files.
2. Capture blood results received from the laboratory.
3. Identify missing data, inconsistencies and errors and follow-up or report on missing data or errors.
4. Refer administrative support to the Project Coordinator.
5. Compile and generate relevant reports.
6. Maintain and update patient files.
7. Perform daily data cleaning and quality control checks.
8. Check the accuracy of manually captured data.
9. Check and compare patient history and data.
10. Resolve discrepancies and queries with relevant parties.
11. Print relevant documentation and file it in patient files.
12. Accurately and timeously capture data for assigned research studies.
13. Clean data based on error reports for assigned research studies.
14. Ensure research activities are completed within allocated time frames.

Requirements:

1. Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
2. 1 year data capturing or administration experience.

Skills and Competencies:

1. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice.
2. Basic computer and typing skills are essential.
3. Knowledge of REDCap Database and experience in a health care environment.
4. Good administrative skills together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database packages.
5. Demonstrated data capturing speed and accuracy.
6. Thorough with good attention to detail.
7. Able to work to deadlines.
8. Good communication skills.
9. Self-motivated and able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
