Job description

  • Oversee and manage the entire winemaking process, including fermentation, blending, and maturation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Viticulturist to ensure optimal grape quality and harvest timing.
  • Monitor and adjust wine production processes to achieve desired styles and characteristics.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and quality control checks at each stage of production.
  • Manage cellar operations, including barrel aging, racking, and bottling.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as industry standards.
  • Develop and experiment with new blends and wine styles that reflect market trends and unique terroir.
  • Maintain meticulous records of production processes and inventory.
  • Represent Wine Estate at tastings, events, and industry functions to promote the brand.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Oenology, Viticulture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of winemaking experience, preferably in a premium wine estate.
  • Strong understanding of viticulture, grape varietals, and wine production methods.
  • Excellent sensory evaluation skills and attention to detail.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage cellar teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in modern winemaking equipment and cellar management.
  • Passion for sustainable farming and innovative winemaking techniques.
