Job description

Wine Quality Controller position available in Stellenbosch.

Our client in the wine industry is looking for a Quality Controller to join their team in Stellenbosch.

Your primary responsibility includes the smooth operation of the quality control department, ensuring efficient and accurate quality control checks for production, compliance to bottling specifications and maintaining a safe and well-organized work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor compliance to bottling/filling specifications at external bottlers/fillers and mobile bottling on site.
  • Ensure that all dry goods are according to specification and adhere to specific requirements.
  • Monitor compliance to internal Quality management plan by means of internal audits.
    External analysis evaluation
  • Assist in the development of new products and maintenance / updates of current products.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or Equivalent.
  • Diploma in Food technology/winemaking/microbiology.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a quality control environment.
  • Lab experience.
  • Broad knowledge of wine and winemaking process.
  • Experience in cellar / food producing / food safety.
  • ISO 2200 and/or HACCP experience.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have good attention to detail and be well organised.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbally).
  • Ability to work with wide range of people.
