Job PurposeTo provide specialist technical expertise and support to Nedbank’s Windows Server Environment. Design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Windows Server environments within the organization. Ensure the stability, security, and performance of these systems; physical, virtual on-premises and virtual cloud servers. Enable the organization's Server infrastructure to function effectively and efficiently.
Job Responsibilities- Contribute to a culture of transformation by participating in Nedbank culture building initiatives, business strategy, and CSI.
- Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise, ensuring personal and professional growth.
- Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and values, leading by example.
- Perform Server Health Checks.
- Perform Monitoring and Logging: Dynatrace, Grafana.
- Optimisation.
- Ensure acceptance criteria is adhered to before any new servers are provisioned into the environment.
- Continually assess existing processes and identify opportunities to improve or enhance processes, adding value to Nedbank.
- Project planning, implementation & ensuring end-to-end delivery.
- Conduct Scripting & Enhance Automation.
- SCCM packaging, scripting, Patching.
- Engagement with VMware team.
- Ensure contingency during disaster recovery (DR). Provide sustainable solutions per incident by conducting root cause and trend analysis.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Chef, Terraform.
- Enhance containerisation and orchestration.
- Follow SDLC Best Practices.
- Conduct Vulnerability Management tasks.
- Perform OS Upgrades.
- Perform Server Migrations.
- Investigate AD / DNS issues.
- Configuring SQL Server.
- Perform extensive Windows Server troubleshooting & fault finding.
- Configure & troubleshoot Microsoft Clustered environments.
- Ensure all documentation is up to date and relevant.
- Ensure knowledge management, continuity, and team success through constructive participation in a diverse team and by sharing knowledge with team, upskilling & providing guidance to Juniors.
People Specification- Windows Server OS extensive knowledge SQL.
- Azure and/or AWS.
- Scripting & Automation.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees.
Minimum Experience Level- 10 years plus exposure to IT environment.
- 5+ Years Window Server/System Engineer Experience.
- Windows Server Experience & Certification.
- Azure and/or AWS Experience & Certification.
