The role ensures accurate, reliable, and timely results that support mineral exploration and geochemical investigations, while maintaining quality standards (e.g., ISO 17025), data integrity, and safety protocols.
Compliance

- Refer to the Annexure that outlines the procedures applicable to all ALS sites and activities, including requirements related to safety, occupational health, and environmental protection.
- This procedure addresses appointments, accountability, and individual responsibilities.

- Abide by the ALS company policies and procedures.
- Always follow all ALS Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Duties
- Familiarize with company policies, protocols, and Geochem work procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and handle samples, consumables, and equipment correctly.
- Follow all HSE protocols of the Geochem department and the laboratory as a whole.
- Ensure appropriate cleaning of lab apparatus.
- Perform daily balance calibrations under strict supervision.
- Consolidate the weighing of pulp samples for Fire Assay and Geochem under strict supervision.
- Exercise flexibility in assisting other lab departments with appropriate training provided.
- Weigh samples under strict supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager, with training provided.
Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in science or a technical field.
- Experience using analytical instruments (e.g., titrator).
- Familiarity with LIMS and instrument software.
- Report writing experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 QA/QC procedures.
- Cold tolerance and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Previous experience working in a 24/7 laboratory environment.
