Vacancy : Wellness Officer

Reporting to : Corporate Wellness Manager

Location : Gauteng

Purpose :

The Wellness Officer Social Worker will be responsible for supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of individuals within the organization. They will provide counselling, emotional support, and resources to help employees manage stress, improve coping skills, and enhance overall wellness.

Minimum Requirements :

  • A degree in social work or a related field.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a social worker in the state of employment.
  • Previous experience providing counselling and support services in a mental health or wellness setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Familiarity with mental health resources and support services in the community.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with employees.
  • Commitment to promoting mental health and wellness in the workplace.
  • Willing to Travel.

Job Objectives :

  1. Facilitate provision of critical financial and nonfinancial support to Fidelity Services Group employees facing injuries, emergencies, and hardships.
  2. Educate or facilitate quarterly workshops to address health challenges, reduce stress, address anxiety, depression, and build resilience and coping mechanisms.
  3. Promote wellness awareness through internal communication (email, posters, FESS EVP Team Sessions).
  4. Provide or facilitate counselling services for employees and their immediate families.
  5. Promote EAP awareness through internal communication (email, posters, FESS EVP Team Sessions).
  6. Conduct Mental Health First Aid Training and facilitate scheduling or train employees as Mental Health First Aid Trainers.
  7. Provide emotional and practical support to employees affected by the death of a coworker.
  8. Collaborate with HR and COIDA department managers to identify affected employees and create regional WhatsApp groups for quick communication.
  9. Schedule bereavement support sessions and counseling within one week of incident, reporting back to the National Wellness Manager within 24 hours.
  10. Create peer support groups within teams to foster empathy and shared healing.
  11. Facilitate quarterly onsite health screenings and ongoing workshops on physical wellness.
  12. Promote physical wellness through internal communication.
  13. Facilitate financial literacy workshops on budgeting, savings, and debt management.
  14. Schedule and coordinate pre-retirement planning sessions for employees aged 50-60, reporting monthly to the National Wellness Manager.
  15. Facilitate team-building activities and skills development programs.
  16. Organize Wellness Days to educate employees about wellness topics.
