Job description

The institute has a job opening for a Welding Lecturer within our School of Artisans, Tradesmen and Professionals.

The prime role of the Lecturer will be to teach students the necessary skills and software applications for the development of specific programme disciplines, with one being deemed a Subject Matter Expert.

This includes conducting training, assessment & invigilation, as well as driving the development and expansion of the faculty offerings and its delivery methods.

Position Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Facilitate learning by creating an engaging teaching and learning environment
  2. Conduct assessments, mark, and provide meaningful feedback
  3. Contribute to programme and content development, and improvement of resources
  4. Undertake relevant academic administration activities
  5. Ensure a positive student experience, provide student support, and maintain excellent customer service
  6. Maintain strong working relationships within the department and with other departments
Application Requirements
  • Grade 12 with full Mathematics
  • At least 2 years' experience as a Welder and in an educational environment (preferred)
  • Ability to understand, use, and learn modern technology
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Must be able to work from our Midrand campus and have reliable transport
  • Facilitator certification SAQA approved (preferred)
  • Registered Assessor and Moderator with ETDP Seta (preferred)
