Placements24 is seeking a Welding Supervisor in Soweto, Gauteng, to lead a team of welders and ensure welding is performed to AWS/ISO standards, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity.

The role requires at least 5 years as a certified welder and 2 years in supervision, with hands-on leadership, ability to read blueprints, manage equipment and inventory, and drive continuous improvement in a busy workshop.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a certified welder required.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proficient in MIG, TIG, Stick and Flux‑cored processes.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of welders.
• Ensure welding meets project specs, blueprints, and AWS/ISO standards.
• Monitor welding processes for quality and safety compliance.
• Inspect welded components for quality and conformity.
• Provide training and guidance to welding staff.
• Manage welding consumables and equipment inventory.
• Enforce strict workshop safety procedures.
• Troubleshoot welding issues and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers/engineers to meet deadlines.
• Maintain records of welding activities, inspections, and certifications.
