Job summary

A leading company in welding inspection in South Africa is seeking an experienced Welding Inspector. Candidates should possess Level 1 or Level 2 Welding Inspector Certification and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in welding and fabrication inspection. Key responsibilities include performing visual inspections, reviewing welding procedures, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001: 2015 standards. This is a role for detail-oriented professionals with strong communication skills.

Minimum Requirements :

Experience :

Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in welding and fabrication inspection.

Sound knowledge of welding processes .

Familiarity with fabrication drawings, tolerances, and inspection tools.

Strong understanding of ISO 9001 : 2015 requirements and quality documentation.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.

Excellent communication and report writing skills.

High attention to detail, accountability, and a proactive work ethic.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform visual inspections and dimensional verification of welded and fabricated components.

Review and verify welding procedure specifications (WPS) and welder qualifications.

Monitor welding processes to ensure compliance with codes and procedures.

Conduct fit-up, root pass, and final weld inspections.

Check material traceability, consumables, and welding parameters.

Identify, document, and report non-conformances and follow up on corrective actions.

Liaise with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure quality standards are met.

Maintain inspection records, quality documentation, and generate reports.

Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 : 2015 and other relevant standards.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and compliance audits.
