Job Overview

The position will be based in Wadeville, and the incumbent will report to the Foreman

Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

• Read drawings and welding symbols;
• Must be able to gouge bad welds on machines;
• Must be able to operate a heating torch;
• To produce welds on products, according to customer or KMC specification;
• Determining the appropriate welding method based on the job requirements;
• Seperate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded;
• Take instructions from Team leaders and Supervisor;
• A welder must set up, operate and maintain welding equipment;
• Understand and implement the company’s safety standards, must adhere to zero harm;
• Make sure a job is done within the specified parameters provided on the PD;
• Communicate any hazards observed;
• Do daily inspection of all gas equipment to identify leakages.

Minimum Skills Required

• Trade Test Qualification – Red Seal: Welder;
• 3–5 years of relevant welding experience;
• Specialized Equipment Experience: Hands-on experience working on KMC machinery;
• Technical drawing proficiency: Must be able to read drawings, differentiate between different metals, to apply the correct welding procedure;
• Welding Proficiency: Must be qualified or willing to qualify in welding 3F welding procedure;
• Overhead Crane Training: Formal training and competency in operating overhead cranes;
• Safety Training: Completed Introduction to Gas Safety course or equivalent.
