Job description

Seeking an Experienced Welder for our client

POSITION INFO :

General Purpose : Conduct welding activities according to specifications, quality and safety to produce product

• Prepare and assemble sheet metal parts for welding
• Conduct TIG and MIG welding as per requirement
• Assist with sheet metal assembling
• Grinding
• Carry out basic maintenance on machines as per training and maintenance checklist

QUALITY & SAFETY

• Ensure all work conducted is performed to the highest quality standard.
• Where product or workmanship does not comply with the drawings / specifications to halt the work performed and inform the Supervisor.
• All parts that do not meet the quality required, to be checked by supervisor and scrapped or reworked as per supervisor’s instruction.
• Ensure that the work is carried out in the safest possible way.
• Ensure the bending machine and its area is clean, tidy and free from debris and waste.
• Ensure the workshop is cleaned once a week and tidied on a daily basis.

GENERAL

• Take completed mechanical parts to stores
• Assist with stock take when required
• Assist in all areas of the metal fabrication workshop, including welding, punching machine, laser machine, raw material handling, finished product handling and assembly

S kills Requirements – Education and Experience

• Grade 10 / NQF 2
• Welding certificate
• Trade would be advantageous
• 2 year’s experience in MIG Welding and TIG Welding
