Wealth Manager Job Description
The Wealth Manager is responsible for:
- Servicing existing clients, including reviewing and managing their portfolios in accordance with company policy;
- Supporting Wealth Planners in generating new business and preparing proposals for both new and existing clients.
Qualifications and Experience
- Formal Education:
- BCom
- Post Graduation Diploma in Financial Planning (advantageous)
- CFP accreditation (advantageous)
- RE Examinations completed
- Experience:
- 5 years in a Wealth Management role
- Proficiency in verbal and written English communication
Key Responsibilities
- Client Portfolio Reviews:
- Research and prepare reviews of client portfolios according to company standards;
- Conduct client reviews and submit reports as per policy;
- Servicing Existing Clients:
- Provide ongoing financial advice on portfolios, risk, market trends, and performance;
- Process client instructions such as switches, repurchases, maturities, surrenders, and transfers;
- Address client concerns, queries, and complaints;
- Handle CCM account openings and payments;
- Assist with tax matters and obtaining tax certificates;
- Assist with wills and estate execution in coordination with executors;
- Ensure adherence to TCF principles in all client interactions;
- Generating New Business:
- Identify and market new business opportunities;
- Prepare proposals and implement client instructions;
- Leadership & Support to Wealth Planner:
- Mentor and supervise Wealth Assistant to ensure compliance and quality standards;
- Identify training needs and contribute to performance evaluations;
- Oversee the quality of work outputs of the Wealth Assistant;
- Coordinate with service providers to resolve client service issues;
- General Administration:
- Record all client interactions;
- Maintain and update client records and databases;
- Ensure compliance with FICA and FAIS legislation;
